Domain Scope
The Domain / Working Group represents interests for the European standardization activities in the field of aircraft, which are entirely autonomously or remotely controlled. This domain activity covers the open category of such systems as defined by the EASA Opinion 01/2018 issued in February 2018. It prepares ASD-STAN prEN standards, EN-standardization projects and comments as well as participates in other European and International projects.
The Working Group provides interested stakeholders the opportunity to actively work on standardization procedures, contribute their ideas and suggestions and take part in the information exchange between national experts.

D05/WG08 UAS Unmanned Aircraft Systems

WG Scope
The Domain / Working Group represents interests for the European standardization activities in the field of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) including, but not limited to, classification, design, manufacture, operation (including maintenance) and safety management of UAS operations. The WG focuses on the Open Category of UAVs as defined by EASA Opinion 01/2018 issued in February 2018. It prepares ASD-STAN prEN standards, EN-standardization projects and comments as well as participates in other European and International projects.

D05/WG08 has prepared the paper to introduce the DIRECT REMOTE ID topic and EUROPEAN UAS DIGITAL REMOTE ID TECHNICAL STANDARD, which is currently under the public enquiry stage. The standard will be published this year and is expected to be adopted as harmonized EN standard.
